One held for murder

Police arrested one Skitbor Nongrang (26) from Nongthymmai village (WKH) in connection with a murder case under Mairang PS.

Accidents

On October 6 at around 3.30 am, one unidentified LP truck dashed against one Maruti Swift Dzire (ML-05L-7925) driven by Ajay Singh at Lad Smit in East Khasi Hills. The driver of the Maruti swift sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

On October 6 at around 10.50 am, one Auto Mahindra Pickup (ML05L-9941) driven by Dhiraj Sunar (36) went off the road and plunged into Umshyrpi river at MES Point, Shillong. As a result the driver and one occupant sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Earlier on October 4 at around 6 am, one Tata Sumo (ML-05K-0050) driven by Sunil Kumar Rai (25) went off the road and rammed into a house at Lum Roman, Umsning (RB). As a result six occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital Nongpoh. No casualty on the occupants of the house was reported.

One killed in accident

On October 5 at around 9.50 pm, one bus (ML-05G-9064) driven by Wanphaibor Warjri (29) ran over one Teibor Kharsawian (25) at Nongwar, Sohra. Victim was shifted to CHC Sohra where he succumbed to his injuries.

BSF personnel attacked

One ND Negi, Asst. Commandant, BSF, lodged a complaint at Phulbari PS that on October 3 while ASI Rotash Singh along with one section of BSF were on patrolling duty at Naga Bandh, Phulbari in West Garo Hills, unidentified miscreants from a crowd gathered at a nearby puja pandal pelted stones at them. As a result, ASI Rotash Singh sustained injuries on his left eye.

Body recovered

On October 3, one unidentified body with multiple incised wounds was recovered from a rubber plantation at Upper Watregre under Tikrikilla police station in West Garo Hills. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Tura for post mortem.
