Teachers’ meet
The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teacher Association (MUPSTA), State Level Unit will hold its state level executive committee meeting on October 10 at the residence of general secretary Kenneth Shadap at Kharmalki, Malki, at around 10 am to have a thorough discussion on the State conference to be organized at Shillong this year. The association will also hold discussions on other matters including strengthening of the organisation.
NSS camp
The NSS UNIT of Shillong College concluded its 7-day Special Camping Programme on October 4 at Nongpathaw village, East Khasi Hills District. The main activity of the camp was the construction of a 220-feet footpath in the village with financial support of the NSS Cell, NEHU, Shillong.
Exhibition
The photography and film-making students of Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, will organize a three-day open photography exhibition cum competition from October 7 to 9 at Don Bosco Hall, Laitumkhrah. The opening ceremony will be held at Don Bosco Hall at 11 am on October 7. The exhibition will remain open from 10 am till 6 pm on all three days.
Cleanliness drive
As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Office of the Block Development Officer of Mawthadraishan C&RD Block conducted an awareness-cum-cleanliness drive in Kynshi market on October 2. L.K. Diengdoh, BDO of Mawthadraishan C&RD Block, administered a cleanliness pledge at Kynshi market.
Programme
The Office of the District Public Relations Officer, Nongstoin, organized a one-day Special Interactive Programme at Laitkseh village, about 40 km from Nongstoin, on September 30, attended by local villagers, school children and representatives from the surrounding twelve villages. J.P. Lakiang, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Nongstoin, graced the function as chief guest.
Symposium
MLCU will organize the first regional symposium on mental health with a theme ‘living with schizophrenia’ from October 8 to 10 at MLCU hall, Nongrah, from 9 am. There will be an awareness march concert on October 10 from 1 pm.
Catholic meet
The four-day national conference of the Council of Catholic Women of India will conclude on October 12 coinciding with its golden jubilee celebrations. The concluding programme will be celebrated by Holy Mass at 9 am and Archbishop Dominic Jala will be the main celebrant. The Synjuk Ki Kynthei Catholic has urged all the faithful to attend the Mass.
