SHILLONG: It was a wind up in a true finale style as the venue of the 18 Degrees Festival teemed with people who came to revel in the last day of the festivities. The day was packed with an array of activities, ranging from book readings on the selected entrees, performances by local musicians in the “new talent platform”, a performance by the winners of the district level cultural programme of the previous day, a contemporary artist workshop, workshop on 3D chalk art by international artist Stacy Lee and much more.

The day also saw a film screening by directors Deepti Kakkar and Fahad Mustafa. Their film Katiyabaaz tells the story of a Robin Hood-style electricity thief who takes up the task of relieving the poor of their miseries but finds an obstacle in the female chief of the electricity company who has other plans in mind.

The organizers of the festival planned a splendid end to 3-day gala by lining up the evening with electrifying performances by music bands. The audiences were treated with performances by local bands Rangdap, Dossier’s Urge and Street. A special performer for the evening was Geetu Hinduja, a singer/song-writer from Mumbai. The festival was winded up with a closing ceremony.
