Three dead in separate road accidents in State

SHILLONG: At least three persons were killed in separate road accidents since October 12.

According to police, on October 13 at around 3.20 pm, an accident took place between a truck and a motorcycle at Kalaicharpara, South West Garo Hills.

As a result, two persons Jerik T Sangma (35) and Newbirth N Sangma (40) died on the spot and Gilsrang N Sangma sustained injuries. Matter is under enquiry.

On October 12 at around 10.05 pm, one Maruti car (ML-10A-5256) driven by Romeo Mukhim (23) knocked down two pedestrians Iban Dohling (45) and Banshanlang Nongkhlaw (23) near Ramakrishna Mission Dispensary at Laitumkhrah Main Road, Shillong. As a result, the victims sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital Shillong. Later, Iban Dohling was referred to Bethany Hospital, Shillong and thereafter to NEIGRIHMS.

On October 13 around 12.40 am, Banshanlang Nongkhlaw succumbed to his injuries at Civil Hospital Shillong. Police arrested the driver and matter is under enquiry.
