Tuki pitches for setting up of National Film Institute

Itanagar:Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Tuesday pitched his state as the most ideal place with abundant potential for establishment of the National Film and Television Institute in the line of Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata.

“The picturesque hills and valleys, simple, hospitable and peace loving people, the serene beauty of lakes, scenic beauty of the snow-clad silver mountain peaks and lush green meadows where thousands of species of flora and fauna prosper will perfectly fit the lens of the film and television makers,”

Rijiju, accompanied by Additional Secretary (Films) from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Raghvendra made an aerial survey of the proposed site for establishment of National Film and Television Institute at Jote, near here.”National institute of film and television in such a location will provide ample scope to the students to learn and research for new means of film making,” Tuki emphatically said.

Earlier, secretary IPR of Arunachal Pradesh Dani Sallu gave a power point presentation informing the visiting guests about the potentials of Arunachal film makers who have won national awards in film making.

Chief Minister later took the union minister and the additional secretary for an aerial survey of the proposed site of the film and television institute at around Jote area, the communique added.(PTI)
