Nangkiew Irat find late equaliser to share a point with Wahingdoh

SHILLONG: Nangkiew Irat came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 against Royal Wahingdoh in the Shillong Premiere League match in JN stadium Polo here in Shillong on Wednesday.

Nangkiew dominated the match in the second half and produced several shots to score. But luck did not favour them as the ball hit thrice on the bar.

Earlier in the 30th minute, Jackichand Singh did well to place the Royal in front with a wonderful shot that beat the Nangkiew Irat’s keeper. Wahingdoh dominated the first half of match but appeared sluggish coming out of the break.

It was in the 85th minute that Nangkiew were awarded a penalty following a collision between S. Harry and Royal Wahingdoh’s defender Lalchhawnkima that saw the latter being sent off from the field. S. Harry’s placement moved to goalkeeper Nikhil ‘s right for the equaliser.

In the Second Division match, Lumshyiap humiliated Umpling with the margin 3-0. The first goal for Lumshyiap came from A. War converted the penallty in the 47th minute and the other two goals came from K. Malieh who scored both the goals which came in the 65th minute and in the 72th minute.
