Meet the author

Sahitya Akademi in collaboration with the Dept. of English, NEHU, is organizing a Meet The Author programme on October 17 with eminent writer Temsula Ao at 2pm in the auditorium of the Old NEHU Guest House.

Dry Day

The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has declared Oct 23 as Dry Day throughout the district on account of Diwali. All bonded warehouses, IMFL shops, bars, hotels and clubs will remain closed on the day.

Conference

The 6th biennial conference of Meghalaya State Coordination Committee of Central Government employees and workers, held in July this year, elected 35 executive committee members for a term of three years.

Portal launch

Education Minister R.C. Laloo will launch the Meghalaya Online Scholarship portal on October 17 at 10:30 am.

Photo contest

The West Khasi Hills District Arts & Culture Society will organise a one-day open photography contest-cum-photo exhibition on tourist destinations in the district on November 11, at the DC’s Office campus, Nongstoin. Last date for registration is November 6.

Coal body

Coal mine and lime stone exporters organization, Nonghyllam, elected new office bearers with N. Marwein as president, T. Iawphniaw as vice president, S. Diengngan as secretary and M.K. Chomal as treasurer, besides others.
