ANVC-B to make peace pact public

SHILLONG: A day after Opposition NPP asked the state government to make the contents of the ANVC peace pact public, the ANVC-B announced that it was preparing a pamphlet explaining the contents of the agreement.
Informing this, the ANVC-B chief Rimpu N Marak said that the pamphlet, which will be Garo language, would be published by end of this month.
“We will also conduct meetings to brief people about the contents of the pact,” he said.
According to ANVC-B, the settlement was made keeping in mind to strengthen the role of the common man and to bring change to the area through the active participation of public in governance.
“The settlement belongs to people and not to us. Therefore it will be made public very soon,” he said.
