SHILLONG: After a successful first edition of the North East India International Model United Nations (NEIMUN) 2013 at Kohima, the second session of the event is scheduled from October 24 to 26 in Shillong.
NEIMUN 2014 is being hosted in collaboration with the Government of Meghalaya and United Nations Information Centre for India & Bhutan and is supported by US Consulate, Kolkata and Best Delegate, USA.
Over 300 people between the age group of 15-25 years from across India will attend the NEIMUN 2014 Conference and join the world community in celebrating the UN day on October 24 during the opening ceremony of the event.
The day marks the anniversary of the “UN Charter entry into force” in 1945. The observance will offer an opportunity to highlight the United Nations’ focus on youth and the education of global citizens. The theme of this years’ NEIMUN conference is “Post 2015 Development Agenda: Setting the World Stage to End Poverty”.
NEIMUN 2014 will host diplomats, bureaucrats, foreign policy and international development experts, and model United Nations trainers who will address the delegates.
