City police issue advisory against fake employment racket in State

SHILLONG: The City police have issued an advisory asking people not to fall into the trap of an alleged racket in parts of the State which intends to dupe innocent villagers in the garb of providing employment to them.

SP (City) Vivek Syiem said that the meticulous cheating plan begins with the selection of particular villages and entrusting the village heads with the task of enrolling unemployed villagers for the scheme.

The fraudsters under the nomenclature Gramin Siksha and Gram Vikas Pariyojana (Rural Public Service Organisation) would then circulate application forms to be filled up by the villagers along with a demand draft of Rs.750 to be paid to a Delhi-based agency.

Syiem informed that the letter forwarded by the fraudsters demand payment of the application amount of Rs.750 through demand draft within 15 days on the receipt of the letter in favour of Penther Sales payable at Delhi and application form and the registration fees to be sent to one Arun Kumar Saxena, Kethal Gate, Post Chandausi, PIN – 244412.

Syiem also said that Police have got hold of the fake letters and applications and requested the public not to be swayed by such false assurances.
