SHILLONG: Following the meeting of Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC) held at the residence of Tura MP PA Sangma, another meeting has been scheduled at the residence of GNC legislator Clifford R Marak at Tura on October 25.
Nikman Ch. Marak, Chairman, GHSMC said that in order to strengthen and seek the unity of the citizens for the demand for separate statehood, GHSMC had resolved to organize various meetings with NGOs, political leaders, church leaders, senior citizens, associations,Nokmas, Sordars, and various communities of the Garo Hills.
The meeting scheduled for October 25 at the residence of Marak, will be attended by political parties,
NGOs, church leaders, associations, Nokmas and various communities
The GHSMC said that it has been trying to achieve the goal of separate statehood since 2012 and will continue to struggle until the demand is met.
“The democratic way of non-violence is the most important armour and weapon of the Committee” ,the GHSMC chairman said .
