Lalrammuana’s hat trick helps Shillong Lajong rout Langsning

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong rout Langsning with a comprehensive 6-0 victory in an Imperial Blue Shillong Premiere League match at Polo Grounds in Shillong, here on Saturday.

Lalrammuana scored four times to see the Reds destroy Langsning after finding his first goal through a penalty only four minutes of the match. Following the penalty, the Reds scored another five goals against hapless Langsning that struggled hard to contain the youthful Lajong attacking side.

Lalrammuana completed his hat trick in the 33rd minute after finding his second goal in the 18th minute. S. Singh made it 4-0 in the 60th minute before Lalrammuana completed his fouth goal two minutes later. It finally became 6-0 at 90 minutes match when S. Lalmuanpuia joined the bandwagon to hand Langsning a humiliating 6-0 defeat.

In the Second Division match, Lumshyiap move past Ryntih 2-1 after the latter put up a late fight. Lumshyipa gained the lead in the 31st by K. Malieh and then added his second goal twenty minutes later to give Lumshyiap a 2-0 lead. Ryntih’s K. Rngad scored a goal in the 59th minute but it was not enough to earn any points.

In the Third Division match, Sawmer threw away an opportunity for what might have been a winning team after leading Lawsohtun by two goals. M. Jana provided the breakthrough in the 19th minute before S. Suting doubled the lead in the 37th minute. However, Lawsohtun bounced back from the brink of defeat with two goals. Forward L. Kipgen was the hero, scoring twice in the 44th and 65th minutes to help his side level 2-2 with Sawmer.
