Two truckers held for cement theft in EJH

JOWAI: Lumshnong Police arrested two truckers for allegedly cheating a cement plant in East Jaintia Hills.

The arrested persons identified as Mark Andy Laloo alias Andy of Dulong, Jowai, and Marlan Challam of Mission Compound, Jowai, were arrested from Jowai on Friday last.

Moonlight Mulieh, manager of the transport agency, informed that the truckers loaded 400 cement bags each from Adhunik Cement Limited to be delivered at Nongstoin and Byrnihat, but both of them changed the number plates of the truck and illegally sold off the cement bags.

Mulieh also informed that the duo had been involved in cheating the cement plant and the transport agency in the past also.
