Pregnant woman raped

A person lodged a complaint on November 3 at Umroi PIC that one John Krod Wester Thangkhiew raped his pregnant sister-in-law at Kdonghulu village in Ri Bhoi. The accused is absconding.

Father killed by sons

On November 2 at around 6 pm, one Phranding Wanniang and Bombarwell Wanniang (20s) murdered their father Dilander Snaitang at Ktiehthawiar village (WKH). Later, Bombarwell Wanniang surrendered at Nongstoin PS.

Detonator explosion

One Dar Rymbai lodged a complaint at Khliehriat police station that on November 2 at around 4.30 pm, a detonator exploded in the cowshed of Har Rymbai (50) at Moolang village (EJH). As a result, Har Rymbai reportedly lost one of his feet in the incident and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong for treatment.

Drug peddler held

On November 4 at around 11.30 am, District Anti-Narcotic Task Force apprehended one drug peddler, Raju Biswa (28) from Oxford Hill, Kench’s Trace, Shillong, and recovered four golden tobacco containers containing about 7.5 gram of suspected heroin from his possession.

One injured in attack

On November 3 at around 6.30 pm, seven unidentified mixed group of armed miscreants went to the house of one Dhamsing Hashah at Nongjri village (SWKH), fired one round in the air, assaulted him and his family members and looted Rs.11 lakh from him. The miscreants also attempted to abduct Dhamsing Hashah and when the villagers rushed to help him, the miscreants opened fire, causing bullet injuries to one Swingpool Nongbri. Victim was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.

ATM vandalized

The Branch Manager, SBI Urban, Dhankheti, lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on November 3, unknown miscreants vandalized an ATM Booth at Kench’s Trace, Shillong.

Phensedyl seized

On November 3 at around 10.30 pm, acting on inputs police conducted raids at Malikona area, South Garo Hills and seized 55 bottles of Phensedyl near the house of one Gobinda.

Cement stolen

One Deepak, Dy. Manager of BSC, JV Camp, Swanggre (WKH) lodged a complaint at Shallang PS that on November 1 at around 7 pm, unidentified miscreants (8/10) armed with khukri went to a labourer’s camp at Rongjeng Nongchram in a Tata Sumo, threatened the labourers and took away fifteen bags of cement.

One killed in cement factory

One Modini Gogoi, Dy. Manager, H.R. Cement Ltd., Thangskai (EJH) lodged an FIR at Khliehriat PS that on October 31 at about 10.25 am one Rohit Nath (24) sustained injuries when he slipped while he was working in the Cement factory. He was shifted to CHC Khliehriat, where the Medical Officer on duty declared him brought dead.

Accidents

On November 3 at around 2 pm, one Tata Sumo (ML-05L-6365) driven by Lester Dkhar (27) capsized at Rngi Dympep, Sohra (EKH). As a result, three occupants sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.

On November 2 at around 5 pm, an accident took place between three vehicles – Ford Figo (ML-05L-1360) driven by Brijesh Bhagat, Maruti Alto (ML-05L-5042) driven by Robert Nongkhlaw and Maruti A-Star (ML-05L-4705) driven by Vikash Kumar at Baniun (EKH). As a result, drivers of all the vehicles sustained injuries.

On November 1 at around 6.30 pm, one motorcycle (number not known) knocked down one Andrias Kharmuti (80) at Pynthorbah, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
