Aizawl: Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department’s Anti Narcotics Squad seized 37.5 grams of heroin in Aizawl, Peter Zohming-thanga, public relations officer of the department said on Sunday.
Zohmingthanga said that two women, both Myanmarese nationals were arrested in this connection durin the raid last night.
The arrested persons – Zachhingpuii (25) and Hmingthanmawii (35), both from Tahan in Myanmar said that they smuggled the contraband from Tahan to be sold in Aizawl, he said.
The accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. (PTI)
