NONGPOH: Following National Highway Authority of India’s (NHAI) allegation that the Umiam-Jorabat four-lane project has missed the official deadline by months due to dilly-dallying tactics of the state government as far as land acquisition is concerned, the KSU, North Khasi Hills District on Monday filed an RTI application seeking detailed information about the implementation of the project.

Through the RTI application, the KSU has sought the detailed project report of the four lane project besides requesting for information relating to land compensation being paid to the villagers.

Expressing concern over the incidents resulting in death and injuries to people during the implementation of the project so far, the KSU also sought information on whether the companies implementing the project had ‘blasting explosive user license’.
