JOWAI: The Jaintia Hills Truck Owners’ Association (JHTOA) has strongly condemned the barbarian act of its former president for assaulting media persons on Monday evening at Soomer, West Jaintia Hills.

“The media people are the fourth estate or the fourth pillars of the country working independently in order to disseminate various kind of information to the people and we are shocked to see through media reports that the self-styled leader of the JHTOA has abused his power,” said JHTOA president, Helping Phawa, while claiming that Thubru was still claiming himself as the JHTOA chief.

Phawa also claimed that Thubru has been illegally claiming himself as the president of JHTOA since 2013.
