TURA: In another shocking case of sexual assault on children, a four-year-old was raped by a teenager in Dalu area of West Garo Hills and the accused has since been arrested and remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday.

The horrific crime took place on November 6, but the police came to know about the incident two days later when the family lodged a complaint after admitting their little girl to a hospital in Tura for urgent medical attention.

The accused was arrested on Sunday and placed under three days of police custody.

On Wednesday, the chief judicial court in Tura remanded the accused, 18-year-old King Victor Ch Marak to judicial custody and sent him to the district jail.

The incident reportedly took place at Koinadubi village, near Dalu, when the accused King Victor taking advantage of the girl child playing alone in the compound of her home lured her away.

“He took her to an isolated spot not far from the house and committed the rape,” informed police officials.

The incident was brought to light after the girl was found bleeding and crying in pain.

“The accused fled from the area after the villagers came to know about his crime. But we were able to catch up with him while he was attempting to flee. A case of rape has already been registered and he has been arrested,” informed district police chief Mukesh Kr Singh.
