Trinity Gas agency violates home delivery order

SHILLONG: Barely a week after East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal issued stringent warning to gas agencies to refrain from point delivery and resort to compulsory home delivery of LPG cylinders, the district administration on Thursday afternoon seized a truck belonging to Trinity Gas agency at Jhalupara.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that the district administration seized the truck after it was found that the agency was openly indulging in point delivery of LPG cylinders in violation of the order.

He said that the truck (ML 05 J 5526) was seized along with 150 LPG cylinders out of which 148 were empty while two were filled. The district administration also filed an FIR against the manager of the agency.

Goyal also informed that the particular gas agency was charging Rs.450 per cylinders from the consumers inclusive of the home delivery charge but was not providing the home delivery service.

Goyal also warned that stringent action would be taken against defaulting gas agencies. He, further, informed that the price of an LPG cylinder is Rs 449.50 which includes Rs.25 as home delivery charge and urged the consumers to immediately bring to the notice of the district administration any violation of the norms or the price by the gas agencies.
