Girl escapes from kidnappers’ clutches

SHILLONG: In a daring attempt, a kidnapped girl managed to escape from the clutches of abductors here on Friday night.

According to police, on November 14 at around 8.30 pm, two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants kidnapped one 12-year-old girl from Fire Brigade, Laitumkhrah and took her towards Smit.

However, one reaching Smit, while they were shifting her to one Maruti car (number not known), she managed to escape.

Earlier, a few cases of kidnapping and rape of girls were reported from parts of city exposing the vulnerability of women.
