Non-payment of dues for 4 months

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Transport Corporation Workers’ Union will stage a series of agitations beginning November 21 to protest against the delay in payment of their monthly salaries.

The decision was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday.

General Secretary of the Union, K. Rumnong, informed that the MTC employees have not been paid their salaries for the past four months and this has caused tremendous hardships for the workers and their families in meeting their daily necessities.

He lamented that the Union had, time and again, apprised the management on the matter but no response was forthcoming.

The Union has made it clear that all the operations of the Corporation would be affected during the agitation.
