Pranab’s two-day NE visit from today

Guwahati:President Pranab Mukherjee will visit Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on November 20 and 21, when he will attend convocation of Tezpur University.

According to an official release by Rashtrapati Bhavan, Mukherjee will attend the 12th convocation of Tezpur University at Tezpur in Assam on Novem-ber 20. “On the same evening, he will also witness a cultural program-me and receive a copy of the book ‘Agnikanya Chandra-prabha Saikiani’ at the Tezpur University Audito-rium,” it said.

On November 21, the President will present the ‘Standard’ to 26 Sqn and 115 HU of Indian Air Force at Air Force Station, in Tezpur.

He will then leave for Arunachal Pradesh and will address the 1st Convo-cation of National Institute of Technology at Yupia, the statement added.

As a President, this would be the second visit of Mr Mukherjee to this most land-locked bordering state. Earlier, he attended convocation in Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh in November last year. The President will leave the state in the evening.(PTI)
