Cable theft affects telephone connectivity

SHILLONG: The telephone and internet connectivity in Assembly premises and the nearby areas of Rilbong- Greater Laban have been affected due to the theft of a major underground copper telephone cable from the side of the bridge near Municipality water tank close to Air Force command house here.

“The theft of telephone cable has affected adjoining areas of Rilbong and part of Greater Laban areas”, Divisional Engineer BSNL (internal) Surajit Chakravarty said on Thursday.

“The BSNL staff is working hard to rectify the fault at the earliest,” he said.
