SHILLONG: The Shillong District jail authorities have lodge a complaint with the police against GNLA chairman Champion R Sangma who allegedly threatened a jail staff with dire consequences recently.
Champion had attempted to assault a jail staff Kontro Khongwir inside the jail premises on October 16, the jail authorities stated in the complaint,
Sources on Friday informed that the GNLA chairman had threatened the staff after he refused to fulfill the former’s various demands. When contacted, East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang informed that the matter was under investigation.
