PM to flag off Mendipathar train

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first passenger train to Mendipathar during his maiden visit to the Northeastern region as the Prime Minister starting from November 29.

An official source informed this here on Monday.

The train is likely to start its journey from Assam side through Goalpara. He will also lay foundation stone for one railway project in neighbouring Mizoram.

However, Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma told reporters in Shillong on Monday that only after setting up of entry and exit points at Mendipathar railway station that the train service will be formally inaugurated.
