SHILLONG: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will undertake a publicity and awareness campaign in the North-East to spread awareness among the youth about various job opportunities and employment avenues available through the Commission.

As part of this awareness campaign, the SSC Chairman will be visiting Shillong on November 29 to address students and youths at an interactive session to be held at Conference Hall, Shillong College, from 1pm.

This initiative is being undertaken as per the directive from the Prime Minister’s Office with a view to encourage the youth of this region to apply for jobs in the Government of India.

Official sources said that the Chairman is expected to dwell a length on the job opportunities especially after very few candidates from North East apply for jobs in Government of India.
