EKH win a close match against WGH

SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills won a close encounter against West Garo Hills in Yesterday’s Inter District Cricket Tournament in Under-19 age category. Winning the toss East Khasi Hills deciding to bat first set a challenging target of 145 runs all out scored in 35 overs. Kynpham Shylla scored 41 runs and Michael Makdoh piled 24 runs for East Khasi Hills while Grimsal Sangma and Ismail Sangma claimed 3 and 2 wickets respectively for West Garo Hills. In reply West Garo began with confidence and looked set for a facile win at one stage. However, a middle order collapse ended their run chase and their innings folding at a score of 128 runs all out in 29.4 overs with Arshan Chegrik Sangma notching up 35 runs off 36 balls. Donald Nongkseh and Ferrell Thabah claimed 3 wickets each for East Khasi Hills. East Khasi won by 18 runs.

In tomorrow’s match All Jaintia Cricket Association shall take on West Garo Hills playing their last league match.
