Driver killed

On November 26 at around 11 pm, one truck (number not known) dashed against one Maruti Alto car (ML-05D-9389) driven by Ton Syiem (52) at Mawryngkneng, Shillong Bypass (EKH). As a result, the driver of truck (unidentified) died on the spot, while one occupant sustained injuries and was removed to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.

Theft

On Nov. 24 at about 3.40 pm, unknown miscreants stole one handbag belonging to Smt. Jacqueline Nengnong containing EPIC, ATM card, PAN card, one cell phone and cash Rs. 1,000/- from Police Bazar, Shillong.

K. Syrti, Asst. EE, MeECL, lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on November 23, unknown miscreants stole one 100 KVA transformer from Sutnga (EJH).

On November 20 at around 6 pm, unknown miscreants stole one cell phone valued around Rs.42,000 belonging to Onent Sari from Lydia House at Bomfyle Road, Shillong.

On Nov. 21 around 1 am, unknown miscreants broke into the shop of Shri Welding Lyngdoh at Siejlieh village (WKH) and stole vehicle spare parts.

Shri Chandan Kumar Mishra, Jr. Manager, SR/Administration Camp, Kynshi lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on the night of Nov. 20, unknown miscreants stole one MS Hunch Plate valued around Rs. 1,37,600/- from Kynshi (WKH).

Bank detects fake notes

P. Das, Chief Manager (Admin), Regional Business Office, SBI lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that two counterfeit notes of Rs.1000 denomination and six counterfeit notes of Rs.500 denomination were detected from SBI, Meghalaya Secretariat Branch, Shillong on October 30, 31, November 1, 4 and 10.

Doctor knocked down

On November 8 at around 12.30 pm, one Ford Icon car (CH-3N-0052) driven by Aljazuddin Mohammed (37) knocked down Dr. J.R. Rana at Jhalupara, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.

Fraud case

R.S. Mawlong, Dy. SP, DSB, Shillong lodged a complaint at Shillong PS that on Nov. 13, one Charles Walleh, a Liberian National submitted a fake letter of contract agreement signed between him and Nangkiew Irat Sports Club at Foreigners Registration Office, Shillong and also overstayed in India after the expiry of his Employment Visa since Feb. 5, 2014. Police arrested the accused.

NGT ban violation

M.A Challam, EAC Nongstoin, lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on Nov. 23, one coal laden truck (AS-01DD-4531) was detected at Nonglwai (WKH), while illegally transporting coal in violation of NGT order.

Accident cases

On Nov. 25 around 3.15 am, one Hyundai car (ML-04A-2821) driven by H.S. Rynjah dashed against roadside railings near Raj Bhavan, Shillong. As a result, the driver and one occupant sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Shillong.

On Nov. 25 around 3 am, one truck (AS-01-DD-3575) capsized near Umshyrpi Bridge, Shillong. As a result, the driver and his helper sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Shillong.

Extortion foiled

On Nov. 24 around 7.30 pm, masked miscreants went to a petrol pump at Mylliem (EKH) and demanded money from the Manager. In the meantime, the manager switched off the lights and the miscreants fled away.
