Guwahati: The BJP’s ‘Mission 84’ (winning 84 out of 126 Assembly seats in Assam in 2016 polls) has apparently come under thre-at of the outlawed militant group , United Liberation Front of Assam (Indepen-dent) or the ULFA (I) that warned of using force to stymie all activities of the saffron party in Assam after January 10, 2015.
The ULFA has set January 10, 2015 deadline for the BJP government in the Centre to make public where about of 26 ULFA leaders and members who had gone missing in the wake of the joint operation launched by Indian and Bhutanese Army to flush out ULFA from Bhutan in December 2003 when the last BJP-led NDA govern-ment was in power in New Delhi.
In an e-mailed statement, the ULFA (I) pointed out that Bhutan government had already made clear that
total 168 ULFA leaders and members were arrested by Bhutan Army during the operation against the outfit in December 2003 and all those were later handed over to Indian Army.
“Out of those 26 ULFA leaders and cadres have remained untraced so far and the incumbent BJP govern-ment led by Narendra Modi who often talks of peace and harmony, should let the families of those 26 missing ULFA members to know the where about of them (whether dead or alive) given that they had gone missing during the previous BJP government in the Centre,” ULFA (I) comman-der-in-chief Paresh Barua said.
The ULFA (I) leader warned that unless the incumbent BJP government provide information in those 26 missing ULFA men, the outfit would use force to resist all sorts of activities of the party and its ‘mission 84’ in Assam would remain a dream.
The ULFA leader warned that BJP leaders and workers in Assam would repent if they dare to forget the extra-judicial killings of kin of ULFA cadres that was perpetrated in Assam during the previous BJP-led NDA government in Centre.
Ridiculing the pro-talks faction of the ULFA, the ULFA hawks leader stated that though a section of the leaders of ULFA who are busy in taking part in tea parties in New Delhi in the name of pursuing dialogue with Government of India, may forget their respon-sibility towards their mis-sing comrades, the ULFA(I) would never forget those comrades.
