Ex-Director of pig research centre passes away

SHILLONG: Former Director of National Pig Research Centre, Rani (under ICAR) and a resident of Bishnupur, Shillong, Dr. Anubrata Das, passed away on November 24 in Guwahati. He was 64. He left behind his wife and daughter.
A scientist of repute, Dr. Das, who joined ICAR in 1976, was associated with several socio-cultural and religious organizations of Shillong including Laban Assamese Namghar.
Members of the Laban Assamese Namghar have condoled the sudden demise of Dr. Das, who was a vice-president of the Namghar committee. In a condolence meeting held on November 25, the speakers recalled the contributions of Dr. Das towards development of the Namghar and expressed their sympathy to the bereaved family.
