SHILLONG: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma is likely to effect a Cabinet reshuffle any time soon.

The reshuffle has become necessary following the resignation of Home Minister Roshan Warjri.

No details have emerged over who would remain in the Cabinet and who would be shown the door.

The Chief Minister is himself looking after the Home portfolio even though he is yet to accept Warjri’s resignation.

The Cabinet reshuffle is also likely to quell rumblings within the ruling MUA-II.

The reshuffle would be of paramount importance for Social Welfare Minister Deborah Ch Marak who was charged-sheeted by East Garo Hills Police for her alleged links with the GNLA.

However, with matters under complete wraps, it is still uncertain whether the Chief Minister would bow down to growing demands to strike off Deborah’s name from the Council of Ministers.
