Police solves Umpawai murder case

SHILLONG: West Jaintia Hills police has cracked the case of murder a day after the dead body of a person was recovered at Umpawai.

One Sunday, the dead body of one person identified as Rupaia Lyngdoh (25) of Wahiajer village was recovered from Umpawai.

West Jaintia Hills SP Herbert Lyngdoh said that Umiam Out post in charge arresred Aibiang Muruh (18) on Sunday night and another accused Pyndap Lamare (25) was also nabbed by police.

Police also recovered a wooden baton which was used in the murder.
