Hyderabad: Fresh from her first major success in the year, which she contends comes as a befitting morale-booster for the new season P V Sindhu here today asserted that she was looking ahead with renewed hope.
In an interaction with the media at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy, where she trains, she said that defending the Macau Open had come at the opportune time as it would bolster her motivational levels to significant levels.
She said that although she did not do anything spectacular this season, compared to the previous year, she still was contended that it was a good one, particularly in the World Championships and the 17th Asian Games at Incheon.
Explaining that she had learnt several aspects of the competitiveness that prevails across the firmament, Sindhu said that she would focus more on building up her game and making the winning habit more consistent. ‘I hope to prove and establish myself with some more title wins in the coming season so that I will be among the top contenders in each tournament I participate, she said, hoping to replicate the form that won her an epoch-making bronze at the Worlds.
She said she was aware of the fact that she had not won Super Series titles. ‘Each outing will be different from the other. I have to adapt and perform against the top ranked players, particularly those coming over from China, Japan and South Korea and always give my best shot to add a Super Series title’ she said.
