New Delhi: The Indian women hockey team Monday left for Italy to play a five-match Test series, starting December 4.

Apart from playing the Test series, the tour will also help the Ritu Rani-led side to prepare for the World League Round 2 slated to be held here in March 2015.

Commenting on the upcoming tournament Ritu said, “We are confident of this series, but more important is the challenge of the World League Round 2 as that will decide if we qualify for World League Round 3 Hence this series is important as it gives an opportunity to work on team coordination,” (PTI)
