SHILLONG: A CID probe was sought into the killing of two persons identified as Waistone R Marak and Rocky Sangma in an encounter in August 2012 at Rari in North Garo Hills.

While the police had maintained that those who were killed in the encounter belonged to A’chik National Unit Force (ANUF), the CSWO President Agnes Kahrshiing in an FIR filed before the SP (CID) on Wednesday alleged that it was a fake encounter.

In the FIR, she sought action against police personnel Bruno Sangma, the then SDPO Dadenggre, Oksnath P Marak (SI),and some SWAT personnel who were involved in the encounter.

The FIR alleged that the finger prints of the weapons used by the slain youths were not taken for examination and moreover, the weapons used by the police personnel were also not seized to be sent for FSL. The bullets shot by the police were not examined, she said.

Quoting the report of the SP North Garo Hills, Kharshiing said that “no finger print has been taken by the investigating officer J. Myrboh as the place of occurrence has been disturbed”

According to the FIR, the bodies were shifted to Williamagar Civil Hospital and subsequently disposed off as unclaimed whereas the bodies should have been sent to Tura Civil Hospital which was nearby.
