EJH beat Ri Bhoi, enter final

SHILLONG: In the Inter District U-19 category Cricket Tournament organized by Meghalaya Cricket Association, associate member and debutant East Jaintia Hills continued with their sterling performance to enter the finals.
In to-days semi final match against Ri Bhoi, winning the toss and electing to bat, EJH put up a challenging total of 146 runs all out in 31.1 overs with S. Das Talukdar notching up 39 runs(57 balls) and all rounder Arki Pajoh 19 runs(34 balls). For Ri-Bhoi Subash Chetri and Wilbert Warbah claimed 3 wickets each. Ri Bhoi began their innings well and at one stage were 81 for the loss of 3 wickets and the match was poised for a close finish. But a batting collapse in the middle ended their run chase, well below the target, managing finally only 122 runs in 28.3 overs. Pritam Singh scored a brilliant 53 runs off 54 balls and Wilbert Warbah 16 runs(35 balls). Arki Pajoh in anothet good all round performance claimed 4 wickets while Shyam Tamang took 2 wickets for EJH.
East Jaintia Hills won by 24 runs and qualified in their maiden participation in the tournament to meet the winners of the second semi final to be played on Saturday between SCA and West Garo Hills.
