SHILLONG: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi will request the District Transport Officer (DTO) to find out if the Garo Students Union President is openly flouting the Motor Vehicle Rules by not putting any number plate and displaying ‘GSU President Tura’ on his vehicle.

Bakshi said that he has no personal information about any such practice of the GSU president but he would ask the DTO to find out the truth.

Bakshi said that there are laws where only a VIP is supposed to display any designation of his rank.

Few people have alleged that earlier GSU president was even using a red beacon.

It may be mentioned that so far senior cabinet ministers, senior Government officials are seen displaying such plates with their designation.
