Ed Sheeran and Pharrell Williams emerged as the major winners at the first annual BBC Music Awards. Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton hosted the ceremony live from London’s Earl’s Court, reported Digital Spy.
Sheeran, 23, was victorious in the British Artist of the Year category, triumphing over rock icon David Bowie, Sam Smith, Elbow, Jungle and Royal Blood.
The singer-songwriter’s win for British Artist of the Year comes on the heels of his latest record X. ‘Happy’ star Williams beat out Dolly Parton, Gregory Porter, Lorde, Prince and Taylor Swift to become Interna-tional Artist of the Year. (PTI)
