City folks participate in the Yogathon Challenge

SHILLONG: Along with rest of the country, Yogathon challenge which is an initiative by The Art of Living, was organised in Shillong where over two hundred people across the state capital on Sunday took part.

Several premier institutions across the state, CRPF, Sports Authority of India and many others participated in the event.

This unique nation-wide initiative which took place across various states and Union Territories saw yoga enthusiasts come together to take up the 108 Surya Namaskar challenge.

Yogathan at Polo ground witnessed people from all walks of life gather to experience and promote the benefits of Surya Namaskar.

This entry-free event was conducted where not only youth but also the older people showed their enthusiasm to participate.

Simultaneously, Yogathon was also organised at Jowai where large number of people participated with full enthusiasm.

This unique event, Yogathon Challenge inspires people to learn Surya Namaskar, participate to check how many rounds they can complete.

Art of Living organised the challenge to create awareness about yoga and create interest in its practice for a healthier living.

Health is not merely an absence of disease, health is the dynamic expression of life. Practice of yoga harmonises the body, the breath and the mind.
