NONGSTOIN: The NSS Unit of Nongstoin College conducted a special camp from December 8-12 at its adopted village, Nongrangoi, under the leadership of P. Dkhar, NSS Programme Officer, Nongstoin College.
The activities undertaken by NSS volunteers during the special camp included an environment awareness cum cleaning drive in collaboration with the PHED, Nongstoin, distribution of waste bins to the village Dorbars, training on search and rescue and First Aid/ Mock Drill in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority, health awareness and medical camp in collaboration with the District Health and Medical Officer.
A training programme for Village Defence Party in collaboration with the office of the SP, Nongstoin, lectures on roles of NSS volunteers in community services and distribution of pamphlets and posters on health, sanitation and disaster preparedness, were also organised.
