EKH win against AJCA

SHILLONG: In the Inter District U-16 category, EKH won by a big margin of 88 runs against ajca in the Cricket Tournament organized by Meghalaya Cricket Association. All Jaintia Cricket Association won the toss and put East Khasi Hills to take first strike. EKH piled a challenging total of 156 runs for loss of 8 wickets in 35 overs, with Michael Makdoh scoring a brilliant 50 runs(58 balls) and Joychandra Singh a supporting role of 21 runs(41 balls). Ram Toi & Yookima Paswet captured 2 wickets each for AJCA. In reply the AJCA batting floundered from the beginning, losing wickets at regular intervals and finally managing only 68 runs all out in 18.2 overs with only Edify Ptwet offering some resistance by scoring 30 runs(55 balls). Purna Chetri and Michael Makdoh performing equally with the ball claiming 4 wickets each. On Wednesday East Jaintia Hills shall meet All Jaintia Cricket Association.

SHILLONG: Pynthor made it to the finals of women’s football in the ongoing Shillong Games 2014 after beating Laitkor while basketball saw Ryntih shine both men and women’s games. In Basketball Women category, Lawmali Sports Club scored (48) against Royal Wahingdoh (22) while Ryntih Sports Club scored (47) against . Rynjah Sports Club (31) In Basketball Men , Nongrim Hills Sports Club scored (59) against Young XI (11) and Ryntih Sports Club (77) vs. Lummawbah Sports Club (73).
In another match, Lawsohtun Sports Club scored (48) vs. Green Age (27) and Mawlai Sports Club scored (80) vs. Malki Sports Club (26)
MFPA Football Tournament

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Football Players Association (MFPA) will be holding the annual Under-15 Invitational Football Tournament from 8 January next year. The teams which will be participating in the tournament includes Shillong Lajong FC, Royal Wahingdoh FC, langsning FC, Nangkiew Irat SC, SAI STC Shillong, Laitumkhrah SS&CC, Mawkhar SC, Upper Shillong SS&CC, Ri-War Mihsngi SA, Sohra United SS&CC, Mawkyrwat DSA, West Jaintia DSA, Ribhoi District SA, Mawryngkneng SC and Smit SC. The association has been organizing this tournament to spot the young football talent who has the potential to become professional footballer, MFPA general secretary said in a statement issued here on Monday,
