Cabinet clears stadium name change

SHILLONG: The state has approved the naming of Tura MP Stadium as Dikki-Bandi Stadium.

GAD minister HDR Lyngdoh said that the meeting of the managing committee of the stadium had given many proposals and later cabinet approved the name Dikki-Bandi for the stadium.

Dikki-Bandi epitomizes the heroics of two great mythological heroes of the Achiks (Garos). Dikki and Bandi were celebrated for their prowess, valour, agility, beauty, leadership qualities, bravery and statesmanship and their qualities complemented each other.
