GHSMC to resume statehood stir

TURA: The Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC) has decided to resume its statehood movement.

The decision to this effect was taken at the annual meeting of the committee held here recently.

The meeting resolved to empower all its units so that they could enlighten the general public on the statehood issue.

The meeting was attended by GHSMC chairman Nikman Ch Marak, general secretary, Augustine Marak besides leaders and members of different Zones and Units from Garo Hills.

The GHSMC comprises the Garo National Council, the A’chik Students’ Welfare Association, the Tura Government College Students’ Union, the All India Garo Union and several senior citizens.
