Theft

On December 19 at about 11.30 am, unknown miscreants stole one Maruti car (ML-10A-8819) belonging to Jose Basaiawmoit from Mawlai Nonglum, Shillong. Later, Police picked up one Emanuel Basaiawmoit along with the stolen vehicle. He was sent to CH Shillong for medical examination, where the MO on duty opined that he is mentally unstable and referred him to MIMHANS.

On December 18, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Matheus Lyngdoh and Smt. Ridalin Mawlieh at New Nongstoin (WKH) and stole household articles.

On the night of December 16, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-9585) belonging to Sukanto A. Marak from Betasing (WGH).

Accident

On December 18 at about 7 pm, one truck knocked down Smt. Ahiko Wahlang (40 yrs) at Mawlai Nongkwar, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.

Radhe Shyam Rewat, driver of a truck (NL-01G-0156) lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on December 17 at around 9 am, his helper Sushil Paswan (28 yrs) sustained injuries while repairing the truck at Mukhla (WJH). He was shifted to Dr. Norman Tunnel Hospital, Jowai, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Fire

On December 17 at around 2.30 pm, a fire broke out in the house of Seprin Khonglam at Smit (EKH). As a result, the house owner sustained burnt injuries and was shifted to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong. Loss of property is estimated around Rs. 30 lakh.

Assault

Chesram G. Momin lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on December 11 at about 6 pm, three unidentified miscreants assaulted him at Tura (WGH) and one of them also brandished a pistol and pointed at him. However, when the public started to assemble, the miscreants fled away. One of the miscreants was identified as Jackey R. Marak of Police Reserve, Tura.
