Fuel tanker with driver goes missing

A fully-loaded petrol tanker along with the driver has reportedly gone missing on the Tura-Dalu road on Saturday.

According to reports available, the tanker from Assam was ferrying petrol and diesel for a fuel station when it was allegedly waylaid by armed men at 9th mile on the Tura- Kherapara road while proceeding towards Dalu area.

“We have received reports and our teams are searching to locate the tanker and the driver but no one has come forward to provide any information,” said West Garo Hills SP Mukesh Kr Singh.

He did not rule out the possibility of the owner of the tanker negotiating with the criminals while keeping police in the dark.
