National Mathematics Day observed in Meghalaya

Shillong: The Directorate of Educational Research and Training, Meghalaya, observed the National Mathematics Day on Monday on the theme “Growing Aptitude in Numerical Innovations” to mark the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the great Mathematics genius, at the Conference Hall, DERT, Shillong.
Speaking at the function as the chief guest, Secretary to the Education Department FR Kharkongor called upon school and college teachers to remove the fear of Mathematics from the mind and heart of the students.
He remembered Ramanujan as an intelligent and talented Mathematician and urged the students to emulate the great Mathematics genius.
Other who spoke on the occasion included T Lyngdoh, Joint Director of School Education & Literacy, who said, “Mathematics is a part of our daily life and we cannot do anything without it.”
