SHILLONG: The Meghalaya United Women’s Organisation (MUWWO) on Monday visited patients at Reid Chest (TB) Hospital, Jhalupara, and organised an advance Christmas programme for them.
The patients, who are unable to visit their homes during the festival, were given an opportunity to sing and dance and to rejoice on the festive season.
Later, MUWWO president Aruna Biswa lamented that the food scale for TB patients was 37 per cent. She asked the State Government to pay attention to improve the diet of the patients.
She also asked the State Government to provide better infrastructure with modern equipments in the upcoming TB Hospital at Umsawli stating that TB patients require better medicines and facilities in hospitals for quick recovery.
