SHILLONG: Police on Friday morning recovered the body of a woman in a river at Shella.

Police said that the body of the woman identified as Madalina Hynniewta (32) of Saitsohpen, Sohra was recovered at about 5.30 am while it was found floating in a river at Shella.

Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was sent to CHC Sohra for post mortem. Police are investigating into the matter.

Meanwhile, city police recovered the body of an unidentified male with injury marks from Butcher Road near Sani Mandir on Friday.
