Jharkhand’s new CM takes oath today

anchi: BJP legislature party leader Raghubar Das will on Sunday take oath as Jharkhand’s first non-tribal Chief Minister at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium here at 11am.

Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmad will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Das who is the overall 10th Chief Minister of the state which has a 27 per cent tribal population.

He is the sixth politician to become the chief minister after Babulal Marandi, Arjun Munda, Shibu Soren, Madhu Koda and Hemant Soren.

Apart from Das few others may also take oath as the cabinet minister. Prominent among those whose names are doing the rounds include former Jharkhand Assembly Speaker C P Singh, Saryu Rai, Louis Marandi, Neelkanth Singh Munda, Vimla Pradhan, Radhakrishna Kishore, Anant Ojha, Shiv Shankar Oraon etc. (UNI)
