Two dead in road mishaps

SHILLONG: On December 28 around 1 am, one truck (AS-11-AC-3286) dashed against two trucks (ML-04B-3805 & AS-01Y-2327) near Mawkhanu Toll Gate at Shillong Bypass (EKH). As a result, Shibormi Phawa, driver of truck (ML-04B-3805) died on the spot while handyman Mohan Das sustained injuries.

In another incident, on December 27 around 2.30 pm, one motorcycle (ML-07A-5636) ridden by Wilseng Ch Marak knocked down one pedestrian Sapna Saha (45) at Nogorpara Bazar (NGH). In the meantime, one Bolero vehicle (number not known) came from the opposite direction and ran over the victim. As a result, she sustained grievous injuries and was removed to PHC Dainadubi and later referred to a hospital at Goalpara, Assam, but succumbed to her injuries on the way.
